A Writer’s Playroom: A Poetry Writing Series

Fridays, January 8-29

4 weeks  :: 7-10 PM EST Virtual 

The intention of this 4 week series is to play with language, sound, and sense. An attempt to return to writing words for their whimsy.  Let’s reconnect to the wonder, that made us fall in love, with playing with words, with expressing them.

We will write fresh poems. We will present them to the collective for their observations. We build poems here, constructively. 

We will use poetic form in two ways. One to write poems of course, but the other as a form of intuitive writing to revisit the many versions of writer, we have come to know as ourselves. Articulate the version of writer you are becoming. Dare I say, expand the vision— 

Somewhere along the way, if like me, you abandoned playing with words, or forgot that you had permission to make up your own rules about how to express yourself with words, then this writer’s play room is a space to re-meet how you connect to writing.

The series will provide 2 poetic writing prompts per week for sharing + reflection from the community.
