25th Annual Poetry Ink
July 19 - July 24
Poetry Ink, a marathon poetry reading hosted annually by Larry Robin at Moonstone Arts Center, celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Poetry Ink began in 1996 at Robin’s Book Store, although Robin’s closed its doors in 2012, Moonstone Arts Center continued providing the public with a space for cultural and artistic exchange, bringing Poetry Ink along with it.
In previous years, Moonstone’s Poetry Ink Anthology has consisted of 100 poets, all of whom were invited to a marathon reading. This year we have invited many of the poets who have read for us over the last 2 years, with 300 poets responding. In addition to the readings there will be an anthology which includes poems by all 300 poets. Since we are still virtual and none of us can spend 12 hours on zoom, we are presenting the poets in alphabetical order for 2 hours each night from July 19 to July 23. Details are at www.moonstoneartscenter.org.
“Moonstone has created the most inclusive, diverse, and deep community of poets and writers in this city, and no other institution has even tried to. We collectively owe much appreciation to Moonstone for its generosity of spirit and its breadth of vision,” said Jeffrey Ethan Lee.
Moonstone Arts Center promotes creative exchange through diverse cultural programs. It began as Moonstone Readings at Robin’s Book Store in 1981 and has since hosted programs like The Celebration of Black Writing and The Paul Robeson Festival and currently presents 100 readings and publishes 30 books a year. It celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. For additional information, please contact Larry Robin at (215) 735-9600 or email@example.com.
