VIRTUAL – Local Author Series: Siobhan Carroll and Fran Wilde

Siobhan Carroll is a Philadelphia based writer of fantasy, science fiction, and horror. Her award-winning fiction can be found in magazines such as Lightspeed and in anthologies like Ellen Datlow’s Stoker-award winning Devil and the Deep. She teaches creative writing, 19th Century Literature and the history of exploration at the University of Delaware and fights crime in her copious spare time. Her novelette “For He Can Creep” is a finalist for the 2020 Hugo award.
Fran Wilde’s novels and short stories have been finalists for six Nebula Awards, a World Fantasy Award, three Hugo Awards, two Locus Awards, and a Lodestar. They include her Nebula- and Compton-Crook-winning debut novel Updraft, and her debut Middle Grade novel Riverland. Her short stories appear in Asimov’s, Tor.com, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Shimmer, Nature, Uncanny, and Jonathan Strahan’s 2020 Year’s Best SFF.
Fran directs the Genre Fiction MFA concentration at Western Colorado University and writes nonfiction for publications including The Washington Post, The New York Times, and Tor.com. You can find her on Twitter, Facebook, and at franwilde.net.
