Submission Deadline for Toho Journal Winter 2020 Issue
Toho Journal publishes fiction, nonfiction, and poetry (and some art and photography too!). While we focus on Philadelphia, writers of all stages and geographies are invited to apply.
In ancient Japanese, toho means sword. That sword cuts to the essential. As such, we publish essential pieces (short, 500 words max) that are sincere and honest and that send shivers down our spines. Send us your best work.
THEME: There’s no theme for the fall/winter 2020 issue. We welcome all submissions. Offer us a glimpse into how you’ve been artistically processing these unprecedented times—or give us an escape into something else entirely. We are simply looking for your best, most inspirational, most candid, open, wrenching, moving, and engaging work. WOW us.
We are currently accepting submissions of fiction and non-fiction prose pieces and art and photography until October 7, 2020.
