Safer Behind Popcorn Author Event & Reading (Online)

Join us for an evening celebrating local poet Sean Hanrahan’s full-length collection Safer Behind Popcorn. Elijah P Pringle III and Deborah Turner will read alongside him.

Sean Hanrahan is a Philadelphian poet originally hailing from Dale City, Virginia. He is the author of the full-length collection Safer Behind Popcorn (2019 Cajun Mutt Press) and the chapbooks Hardened Eyes on the Scan (2018 Moonstone Press) and Gay Cake (2020 Toho). He currently serves on the Moonstone Press Editorial Board, as head poetry editor for Toho, and workshop instructor for Green Street Poetry. He teaches a class titled A Chapbook in 49 Days and has hosted a bimonthly reading series at Art with Spirits.
Elijah B Pringle III is an artivist who uses art to subtlety protest/enlighten. “When you hit people over the head with a message, you make them unconscientious. I want to awaken them with a nudge or a slap!” Published globally he has appeared on Radio, TV & Stage. A former Corporate Director of Training he attended CHS & Drexel. He credits his true education to 5 generation of teachers.
Deborah Turner is a librarian, educator, and researcher, Deborah Turner now writes poetry and prose full-time. Her debut poetry book, Sweating It Out (2020) features her collection of sports poetry. Her writing also appears in the Lavender Reader, Philadelphia Stories, and the anthologies Testimony (Beacon Press) and The Body Eclectic (Henry Holt).
