Permission to Be Generous: On the Allowance of Poetry w/ Devin Gael Kelly
July 6 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm$75
This workshop is a 4-part weekly series starting Tuesday, July 6th.
So much of the workshop process is about cutting material, so much so that many writers often think that revision means excision. But what happens when we offer ourselves permission to write into a poem, rather than out of it? This workshop will focus on permission, on a generous use of and, and even and yet. We will attempt to write into excess, discursion, tangents, and continuation, however we define such things for ourselves. We will go together into whatever our poems allow, and learn to be generous enough to follow ourselves there, rather than cut ourselves off.
