Layers of Tenderness: Screen printing through Poetry
May 13 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree
This event is part of One Book, One Philadelphia 2021 centering Jericho Brown’s collection of poems, THE TRADITION.
Learn to screen print, a process where ink is pulled over a stencil to transfer a printed image onto cloth or paper. Create your own print with layers of imagery, as you enjoy an evening of poetry and rituals of care with the Fabric Workshop and Museum (FWM) and visual artist and poet Jonathan Lyndon Chase. Chase’s exhibition Big Wash, which explores queer Black domestic intimacy, is currently on view at FWM.
A limited number of at-home screen printing kits will be available. Registrants will receive a Zoom event link and will be contacted closer to the event to schedule a time to pick up kits from the Fabric Workshop and Museum.
